Arthritis of the knee

Gymnast Metacarpal
A gymnast’s hand with broken (fractured) fourth metacarpal repaired with a plate and screws. The illustration shows an orthopedic repair of a fractured metacarpal, and demonstrates the extreme stress that can be tolerated after surgery. A similar surgical repair has been done on the USA Olympiad Paul Hamm. The medical illustration is available for print or digital projects, and would be excellent for educating both public and patients about anatomy and surgical procedures.
