Licence Terms

By purchasing a (print and/or digital) licence you are prohibited from using the image/animation outside of the agreed terms for each licence as described below. Use of the image/animation under the licencing terms also involves suitable crediting of the content as described below.

Licences are non-exclusive and non-transferable. The licences expire five years after purchase date and are expressly limited to the agent/company who purchased the license. The licences are not transferable as part of syndicated publications unless additional permissions are granted, and may involve additional licensing fees.  By licencing the images/animations the licensee is not granted any future right or lawful claim for selling future reproduction rights of the images.

Print Licence:

The purchase of a Print Licence provides the purchaser with the right to use the image within a printed publication. The publication may be in any printed form, and with no limitation to the number of copies or times the image is used. However, the rights to use the image are limited to the licence holder, are non-transferable, and do not involve the right for resale of the image.

The licence does not provide the use of the image for cover artwork. An additional fee will be required on a project by project basis for cover artwork. An image licenced with a Print Licence cannot be reproduced in any digital format (without the purchase of an explicit Digital Licence).

CREDIT: As a condition of the Print Licence, all licenced images should bear legible image credit, visible on the same page as the image.

Digital Licence:

The purchase of a Digital Licence provides the purchaser with the right to use the image within digitial publications. The publication may be in any digital form, with no limitation to the number of copies or times the image is used/viewed. However, the rights to use the image are limited to the licence holder, are non-transferable, and do not involve the right for resale of the image/animation. An image licenced with a Digital Licence cannot be reproduced in any printed format (without the purchase of an additional Print Licence).

CREDIT: As a condition of the Digital Licence, all licenced images must include clear image credit, visible below or directly near the image.

The images should be credited as: “Image Credit: www.medical-illustrations.ca

When used on a web page, or digital media that includes active links to the internet, the image credit text should also be hyper-linked to http://www.medical-illustrations.ca

Dual-Digital and Print Licence:

By purchasing a Dual-Digital and Print Licence, the purchaser is granted the limited rights of both the Print and Digital Licence, as described above. The rights to use the image are limited to the licence holder, are non-transferable, and do not involve the right for resale of the image/animation.

CREDIT: The Dual-Digital and Print Licence involves the same condition of crediting the image/animations, as described above for each media publishing type (print or digital).

Animation Licence:

The purchase of an Animation Licence provides the purchaser with the right to use the animation within digitial publications. The publication may be in any digital form, with no limitation to the number of copies or times the animation is used/viewed. However, the rights to use the image are limited to the licence holder, are non-transferable, and do not involve the right for resale of the image/animation. An animation licenced with an Animation Licence cannot be reproduced in any printed format.

CREDIT: As a condition of Animation Licence, all licenced animations must include clearly visible credit, located directly below or otherwise close to the animation.

When used on a web page or digital media that includes active links to the internet, the animations credit text must also be hyper-linked to http://www.medical-illustrations.ca
